Nominee

Founder / CTO

Nominee is an educational technology platform with a mission to democratize access to resources needed to run for a political office. In 2021 I joined forces with 3 other Co-Founders to start Nominee. We were motivated to get more younger and diverse people into elected office, however, we recognized that many of the resources currently available are difficult to find or gatekept. We started Nominee to make access to the political system more equitable and affordable in hopes that we could make our democracies more representative of the people that they govern.

Branding

I created the foundational branding for Nominee. The monogram is made up a square which is representative of a town square. Within that square are two opposing ticks that are free to move back and forth within the square—this is meant to represent the power of voting and how candidates may often sway in comparison to one another in the polls.

Any positioning of the ticks within the square is a valid representation of the Nominee monogram. This means that "N" can take on many different forms. This embodies our belief that our governments should be made up of diverse perspectives and voices.

The monogram can be used as a window for both elected officials that align with our vision and potential new candidates that are ready to step up with the help of Nominee. Each person is free to select their own representation of the Nominee "N".

To fill out the rest of the wordmark around the "N" monogram, we selected the typeface Marsha, designed by Tré Seals of Vocal Type. There is no better typeface that could be representative of our mission than one inspired by the activist Marsha P. Johnson and The Stonewall Inn.

We paired the logo with a textured background that represents swift motion. Nominee is all about taking action and building momentum. The vibrant colors were chosen to elicit a feeling of youthfulness and electricity.

MVP Beta Program

Serving as CTO, not only did I design all of the visual branding for Nominee, I also developed the MVP of the platform. When we launched a limited Beta of the platform we had only a couple courses and resources, just to demonstrate what the platform could look like.

Campaign 101

In 2023 we decided to focus on loading up the platform with content. We were able to enlist the help of several political contributors and create a 10 chapter course on the basics of how to run a campaign. I helped to produce over 60 video lessons and 80 downloadable templates in a course named Campaign 101.

Campaign 101 was launched in February 2024. I created a video trailer to promote the course along with additional marketing materials to pitch it to organizations in hopes of making group sales
