December 2022 – Present

asrequired

Product Strategy Consultant

In 2019 I decided to form an LLC in New York to handle inbound freelance design projects that came my way. I named the LLC asrequired in reference to a phrase used to conclude a satisfied Mathematical proof. It's also a single word because "As Required" was already taken.

When I left The Block at the end of 2023 I spent most of 2024 focusing on freelance work through asrequired. I have since returned to full-time work and only take on freelance work once in a while when I have the bandwidth.

Just a few of the wonderful brands I've worked with.

Design Shop of One

I have helped several clients with services such as product strategy, product design, brand design, graphic design, print design, and website design. From 2023–2025 I have helped over 20 different clients with product and design services.

Podcast Cover Art

In 2023 Josh Muccio reached out needing some help redesigning the cover art for his podcast, The Pitch, when he re-acquired it back from Spotify. I presented several different concepts, eventually landing on the final cover art along with accompanying assets to brand the show's page within the Apple Podcasts app.

More recently, I helped Campside Media bring their ideas to life for their podcast, We Came to the Forest. The cover art was inspired by real protest art from the movement that the podcast is centered on.

360 Brand Execution

I've helped several brands with logo design and branding services. For LEYEC Optics I provided several different logo concepts, eventually landing on a direction that they were happy with.

I also created designs incorporating their branding on collateral that they would be using in-store such as shopping bags and eyeglass cleaning solution. I even provided product photography and in-store photography for LEYEC to use on the web.

I also helped LEYEC with a redesign of their Squarespace website to complete the entire look of their brand.

Ideas to Working Prototypes

I've also helped pre-seed startups bring their ideas to life through working prototypes. In 2024 I worked with Ben Cohen of Quoll to create a working prototype of a product update he wanted to make that he had sketched up in Google Draw. He was able to use these prototypes in funding pitches and eventually completely built it out.

We originally created the prototype using Quoll's existing branding, but later provided a brand update to the entire product.

The new logo leaned on the name of the brand, incorporating subtle hints to protecting the home. We also updated the typography and brand colors to make the brand feel more mature.
